It’s been a while since I last blogged here. It’s not that I have lost interest in it, but rather, I was pushed back by how much I disliked the way this blog looked.
It’s like entering an unwelcoming place–you wanted to leave as soon as you stepped into it. It’s frustrating when even after spending countless of hours trying to tidy up the place to make you want to stay in it, and all you got in the end was another mess.
Then earlier this month, while researching for various WordPress theme options, I came across the Newspaper 7 WordPress themes produced by tagDiv. And what a theme it is!
It has almost everything I want in a blog–a large grid just below the header, as shown in the screenshot above, which can be further customised to display a combination of different block sizes as well as the total number of blocks.
The theme currently comes with 24 pre-designed “demos” or templates, which can be further customised to your liking. I won’t say much more about this here, you can check the Newspaper 7 WordPress theme demos for yourself. Suffice to say that I managed to customise the blog’s look and feel, the way I had always wanted it, without knowing, let alone touching, a single code. Check out the video below for more:
Now that I have a functional blog, it’s time to create the content.
